Course: Lifeguard Training Time: 4:30pm - 8:00pm Location: Tootell Aquatic Center - University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI
June 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15 The Department of Environmental Management and the University of Rhode Island Department of Athletics are co-sponsoring this course at a reduced rate. The class will cover first aid and cardiopulmonary rescuscitation in addition to water and rescue training. The class is being offered to alleviate a projected shortage of lifeguards and other qualified aquatic personnel that could compromise the ability of regulated facilities to operate as fully as expected, perhaps requiring some programs to offer limited swim areas as adequately staffed for protection. Class space is limited and early registration is encouraged. Those wishing to participate should register at the URI REC Service Center located in the Mackal Field House on the URI Kingston campus.
