Keeping
Rhode Island Safe This Summer... Name three things that pop into your head when you think about summer in Rhode Island. Beaches, boats and beautiful sunsets are just a few things we enjoy in the Ocean State during the warm weather. For the Red Cross, summer means something different. For over 100 years, we have been teaching Rhode Island children to swim. We are preparing for a rough hurricane season, which kicked off June 1st and lasts through November. And we continue to respond to house fires, because emergencies dont stop when the weather gets nice. For the Red Cross, summer isnt a time for vacation. We know that an emergency can strike at any moment and our dedicated team of volunteers and staff stand ready to respond. As you read this issue of CrossRhodes, we hope youll come away with some practical safety tips. We also hope youll appreciate that while you are enjoying summers special offerings, the Red Cross is working hard to keep Rhode Islanders safe. |
