On Wednesday, March 31st, students across Rhode Island celebrated the last day of Red Cross Month with a school wide campaign called "Students Stand Up for the Red Cross Day." Dozens of schools across Rhode Island took part and raised funds for the RI Red Cross. Students in elementary school through college took part in this fundraiser.

Schools were very creative in how they took part on this day. Some held a flower sale, others donated extra to attend a school dance, while some donated $1 for the privilege of wearing a hat to school. Others simply put out collection jugs for students and teachers to drop spare change into. In all, it was a huge success and students and teachers across Rhode Island showed the positive impact they can have when we work together to save lives.

Results will be posted as the donations continue to come in. As an added bonus, money raised from this event will be eligible for the Feinstein National Challenge. The more we raise, the more of Mr. Feinstein's challenge money we will receive! Thanks to all the schools who took part and the teachers and students who took time to help others. On behalf of the RI Red Cross and the many people whom these donations will help, we thank you!
